Compare Subwoofer — Side-by-Side Specs
Comparing subwoofers comes down to driver size, room volume, and how clean the bottom octave needs to be. Look at -3 dB extension, port tuning frequency, CEA-2010 SPL measurements (the honest standard), and rated amplifier wattage rather than peak SPL claims. Sealed enclosures roll off more gently and are easier to EQ flat in-room; ported designs hit lower extension at higher efficiency but are less forgiving of placement. Group delay and room modes at 40–80 Hz matter more than spec sheet numbers.
