Compare Acoustic Panel — Side-by-Side Specs
Acoustic panel comparisons involve NRC rating (Noise Reduction Coefficient, 0–1.0 scale) and the more modern SAA (Sound Absorption Average), core material density, and panel dimensions. 2-inch rigid fiberglass or mineral wool panels absorb effectively from 500 Hz down to about 250 Hz; 4-inch panels extend coverage lower. NRC and SAA are broadband averages — look for absorption coefficient data by octave band if you're treating specific room mode frequencies. DIY panels with Owens Corning 703 match commercial panels at a fraction of the cost.
